GROUP SHOW mit ROSA LOY: Threads

The exhibition "THREADS" at the Draiflessen Collection in Mettingen brings together works by contemporary artists such as Rosa Loy, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Louise Bourgeois, Eva Hesse, Rosemarie Trockel and many more on the theme of threads.

Who doesn't know the thread of life, the common thread? Who is not interwoven with others? We encounter threads in myths, in language and also in art, where they are often used as a metaphor, model or medium. The theme of this exhibition is therefore the symbolic meanings of threads for people and human life.
FÄDEN brings together works by contemporary female artists, exemplary spinning utensils and graphics with motifs from selected Greco-Roman myths. These works, deliberately compiled from different contexts and categories, are "networked" with each other in such a way that they offer visitors - to stay with the metaphor - numerous connecting threads to explore the use and meaning of thread as a symbol of personal and social narratives.

THE EXHIBITION WILL BE ON DISPLAY FROM OCTOBER 15, 2023 TO FEBRUARY 25, 2024.
