PALOMA VARGA WEISZ: Multiface

The Multiface exhibition is one of the most comprehensive presentations of Paloma Varga Weisz's work. It brings together recent groups of works with key pieces from over three decades and offers an insight into her poetic yet subversive artistic practice. Her works - sculptures, watercolors, drawings and installations - permeate existential questions of identity, memory, vulnerability and transformation. Figures and forms move between the familiar and the strange, the physical and the narrative.

Trained as a wood sculptor, Paloma Varga Weisz consciously breaks with the tradition of the craft. By mastering and at the same time subverting traditional techniques, she creates works that question classical notions of materiality and form. Her sculptures combine historical references with surreal elements, humorous disruptions and subtle irony, impressively exploring the boundaries between precision craftsmanship and contemporary reflection.
