The launch event for the DSI Alumni-Programm has taken part on November 21st in Düsseldorf.
For many years Droege Group supports the children’s project "Kind in Düsseldorf" (KiD). The project was set up in 1993 to provide a stationary care center for domestically abused children.
KiD takes a holistic approach to child care, providing children with long-term support to overcome their crises. In addition to diagnostics and therapy, the center’s attached living area also provides children with a safe haven where they can rehabilitate and learn to cope with their traumatic experiences.
The employees of the Droege Group have participated in a wish tree campaign and donated gifts for the children living in the KiD Project during Advent season 2016. Find out more.
Mission to Mozambique
The Benedictine College St. Martin's Ampleforth in York/England regularly supports international educational projects. A highly regarded initiative is promoting education in Africa, for example in the diocese of Xai-Xai in Mozambique. The priest-teachers are equipped with computers in order to ease communication with students and each other. Also students receive bicycles to allow them to drive the sometimes long distances to school.
Droege Group is pleased to support St. Ampleforth College in this socially valuable initiative with a donation for students at Cathedral School and at Macia School in Xai-Xai, Mozambique.
Senegal: Practical help that reaches people
In Feburary 2016 a donation from Servona Medizintechnik GmbH, a portfolio company of Droege Group, reached the Centre Hospitalier Université de Fann in Dakar, Senegal. The specialist of Medical instruments has donated inter alia wheelchairs and other medical equipment e.g. rollator, sterile wound care material and doctor’s coats. The donation was an important support for the supply of the people there.
Initiators of this project were Dr. Hedda im Brahm-Droege and Nicholas Fox Weber, Director of the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation in Connecticut, who has already been supporting the hospital for a long time. It was a personal matter for both of them to give sustainable support and some practical help for the people.
Nicholas Fox Weber expressed how helpful the donation was for the Fann Hospital in Senegal: “I am just coming back from Senegal and am excitedly to tell you, that the Fann Hospital achieved the wheelchairs. With this donation you have made many people happy.” Droege Group also received some grateful reactions from the Fann Hospital: “… You should have been there to have seen the sparkling eyes of the nurses. The wheelchairs will improve the situation for them and for their patients.”
