ROSA LOY & NEO RAUCH: Kleine Ewigkeit

Rosa Loy and Neo Rauch's first joint exhibition in the Netherlands, on show at Museum No Hero, comprises 65 paintings and two sculptures from the artists' own collections, the Perlmut Collection, Galerie Kleindienst, Galerie Eigen + Art and Museum No Hero.
Loy and Rauch belong to the New Leipzig School, an artistic movement known for its enigmatic, surreal figuration. Neo Rauch was the first of this generation to be discovered internationally. The meteoric rise of his career drew worldwide attention to the art from Leipzig and made the New Leipzig School world-famous.

Both artists emphasise the autonomy of art. They resist the pressure to be clearly interpretable. Their pictures, they say, have no fixed meanings, but invite a sensual experience. ‘They are meaningful because they appeal to the senses, because they utilise and touch the sensory instruments,’ explains Rauch. For Loy, a picture is a ‘small eternity’ - a timeless reflection that allows viewers to find their own meanings. It is art that retains its dignity over the centuries without submitting to fashionable trends - a re-enchantment of the world

The exhibition Rosa Loy & Neo Rauch - Kleine Ewigkeit is an open invitation to immerse yourself in the pictures.

THE EXHIBITION WILL BE ON DISPLAY FROM FEBRUARY 23 TO AUGUST 31, 2025.
